Refund and Cancellation Policy

8 min readUpdated Oct 15, 2026

This Refund and Cancellation Policy is for Scroll the Bible. It covers paid subscriptions and free trials. By subscribing or starting a free trial, you agree to this policy along with our Terms of Service.

Who can cancel, and who can refund, depends on where you signed up.

  • Website. Newer website subscriptions are sold through Link. Stripe is the merchant of record, which is why the charge on your statement starts with LINK.COM and the receipt says Sold through Link. You cancel in Settings, Subscription. If a refund is due, Link issues it. This page and the form at the bottom are for those subscriptions.
  • iPhone or iPad app (the App Store). Apple bills that subscription. Apple is who cancels it and who refunds it. We cannot see, cancel, or refund an App Store charge. Cancel at Apple Subscriptions. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

1. What Qualifies for a Refund

These are the kinds of situations that can be refunded on a website subscription. If any of these describe your charge, use the Request a Refund form at the bottom of this page. If the form says you qualify, it sends you to Link to request the refund. Link is who decides and who issues it. The form does not email us and does not refund the charge itself:

  • You were charged more than once for the same subscription by mistake (a duplicate charge).
  • You see a charge you do not recognize and suspect fraud or that someone used your card without permission.
  • The service was completely unavailable or broken for you and we were not able to fix it.
  • A refund is required by the consumer protection laws where you live.

Important about proof: a picture of the bank charge on your bank statement is not proof. For a duplicate charge, have the two receipt or confirmation emails. If the form says you qualify, you send that proof to Link.

Even outside of this list, if you had a bad experience and feel a charge was not fair, use the form. It will tell you whether that reason qualifies.

2. What Does Not Qualify for a Refund

To keep things fair and sustainable, some situations generally will not be refunded. The most common one is simply forgetting:

  • You forgot to cancel your subscription and it renewed for another period.
  • You forgot to cancel before your free trial ended and were charged when it converted to a paid plan.
  • You signed up, did not end up using the service much, but the subscription was active and available the whole time.
  • You changed your mind about the subscription after the renewal already went through.
  • You say you were charged after you canceled. A completed cancellation stops the next charge automatically, so a charge means the cancel was not finished before it went through. You can still ask Link from the form if you want. That request will be declined.

One important thing to understand: sending us an email, text, or message that says “cancel” does not cancel your subscription or trial, and it does not stop the next charge. A cancellation only counts when you do it yourself in the right place (see the step-by-step guide below). So “I emailed you to cancel” on its own does not qualify for a refund.

The good news is cancelling is quick and stops all future charges right away, so you are never locked in. And if your situation is a genuine mix, like you forgot to cancel but also could not find where to do it or something looked off, still use the Request a Refund form. It will tell you whether that reason qualifies.

We Want You to Be Happy

We are real people building something we care about, and we care a lot about our customers and making sure you are happy and treated fairly. We cannot promise a full refund for every request. If something went genuinely wrong on a website subscription, use the form. If your reason qualifies, Link is who issues the refund.

Think you qualify for a refund on a Scroll the Bible website subscription? Use the Request a Refund form at the bottom of this page. If it qualifies, the form sends you to Link to request the refund.

3. Free Trials

If your plan includes a free trial, your payment method is charged automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. Cancelling any time during the trial is free and stops that charge from ever happening, so if you are not sure you want to continue, the safest move is to cancel early in Settings, Subscription. On a website trial we also email you before it ends, about two days out and again on the last day. Forgetting to cancel does not qualify for a refund. If you were charged because of a duplicate charge, a charge you do not recognize, or a service that was broken and never fixed, that falls under what qualifies for a refund above. Use the Request a Refund form at the bottom of this page.

4. How to Cancel: Step by Step

You cancel your own subscription. It takes about a minute. There are only two places this can happen, and which one you use depends on where you signed up. Find your situation below and follow the numbered steps.

Reminder: Emailing or messaging us the word “cancel” does nothing. You have to do the steps below yourself, or the next charge will still happen.

Path A: If you signed up on the website

This covers anyone who paid on our website, including a charge that says LINK.COM or Sold through Link. You cancel it yourself in Settings, Subscription. It takes about a minute, and it stops the next charge automatically.

  1. Open Settings, Subscription. If it asks you to sign in, enter the email you paid with and we email a 6-digit code to that inbox.
  2. Tap your subscription in the list.
  3. Tap Cancel Subscription.
  4. Pick a reason, tap Continue, then tap Cancel Subscription again to confirm.
  5. When you see Subscription Canceled, you are done. No more charges, and we email you a confirmation.

Path B: If you signed up inside the app on an iPhone or iPad

If you subscribed through the app on an Apple device, Apple handles that subscription. We cannot cancel or refund it. Use Apple's own pages.

  1. Open Apple Subscriptions, or on your iPhone or iPad open the Settings app, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.
  2. Tap Scroll the Bible in the list.
  3. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm. If you do not see a Cancel button, it is already canceled.
  4. To ask Apple for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, choose Scroll the Bible, and submit the request to Apple. Apple decides.

Not sure which one you used? If you paid on our website, use Path A. If you tapped “Subscribe” inside the app on your phone, use Path B. When in doubt, try Path A first, and if we show no subscription there, use Path B. If you may have signed up in both places, check both, because Apple bills its own subscriptions and we cannot cancel or refund those for you.

Every email we send you also carries a one-tap cancel link that needs no sign-in. If the charge was sold through Link, receipts and card updates live in your Link account, which is separate from the email you sign in with here. Cancelling still works in Settings, Subscription. If you cannot sign in and cannot find one of our emails, open the backup billing portal with the email you paid with.

Cancelling stops all future renewals. Your access continues through the end of the time you have already paid for. A cancellation only counts once you actually complete the steps above.

5. We Do Not Cancel On Your Behalf

We do not cancel subscriptions or trials in response to email, text messages, phone calls, voicemails, social media messages, or any other request sent to us or to any person. Those requests will not be processed and will not stop a renewal or trial charge.

To cancel, you must complete the steps yourself: Path A (Settings, Subscription) if you signed up on the website, or Path B (Apple Subscriptions) if you signed up in the app. Those are the only cancellation methods we recognize.

6. Stuck? We Will Point You in the Right Direction

If you followed the steps above and still cannot get it done, email scrollthebible@thejcbsnbrand.com and tell us where you signed up (website or the app) and the email you paid with. We will walk you to the exact button. For your security you still tap the final Cancel yourself. We do not cancel a website subscription from an email, and we have no ability at all to cancel or refund an Apple subscription for you. Website refunds that qualify go to Link. App Store refunds go to Apple.

7. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time and will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date. Where required by law, mandatory consumer protection rights in your country of residence continue to apply regardless of this policy.

Request a Refund

This is only for Scroll the Bible subscriptions billed on our website. It takes a few minutes, and most requests do not qualify. If yours does, you request the refund from Link. If you only want to stop being charged, you do not need this. Just cancel.

Read this before you start

We want you to be treated fairly, so we will be honest up front. This saves you time.

  • If you just want to stop being charged, you do not need a refund. Canceling in Settings, Subscription stops all future charges right away.
  • Forgetting to cancel, not using it much, or changing your mind do not qualify for a refund, even after you email us.
  • If your reason qualifies, Link issues the refund. This form does not email us and does not refund the charge. Have your proof ready, because Link will ask for it.
  • A picture of the bank charge on your bank statement is not proof. Have real proof ready for Link, like the two receipt emails if you were charged twice.
  • Knowingly false claims are declined and recorded.
Actually, I just want to cancel
